Awesome Activities in the Sun This Summer at Your Conroe Apartment

Summer means the kids get out of school. The weather heats up, and everyone starts to look for sprinklers in which to run and have fun. However, if you’re an adult, you might not have the freedom to find fun things to do, and you might need to engage in a small amount of planning.

Fortunately, if you’re a resident of Conroe, there are loads of fun things to do each summer whether you’re a kiddo just graduating from elementary school, or you’re an adult trying to squeeze in some fun time during your days off from work.

Here are a few activities to consider this summer in Conroe.

Join the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

If you’d like to be part of a unique event in Conroe, and you’re interested in learning how to swim – or teaching a little one in your life how to love water – you might want to attend the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at the Conroe Aquatic Center, which is located at 1205 Candy Cane Lane.

According to the City of Conroe official website, there is no cost to attend the event:

“The Conroe Aquatic Center is participating in The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson event again in 2016. This event is intended to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim and help prevent drowning. Help us break last year’s Guinness World Record of 40,000 + participants worldwide. The swim lesson will be conducted simultaneously with all other host sites worldwide. Participants must arrive by 9:30 am and be “swimming” ready.”

You can certainly drive to the beach from Conroe and reach it in a few hours, but it might be easier to visit the Aquatic Center for some fun with bathing suits if you only have a short time to relax.

Cool Off Inside at the Owen Theatre

According to Trip Advisor, The Owen Theatre is one of the most popular venues in Conroe for the summer. According to reviews on the website, there isn’t a “bad seat in the house,” and the acoustics are great, too. The theater gets high marks from locals who visit it regularly, as well as travelers who hear about the theater and visit it from other cities.

  • The Conroe Country Music Opry on June 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
  • The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 in June and July
  • Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in August and September

If you decide to visit the theater this summer, remember that the theater doesn’t allow the use of cell phones during performances, prefers that guests don’t use their phones for flash photography and text messages, and asks guests to cover their mouths when they cough. The theater also asks that guests refrain from talking during the performance and avoid singing along with the cast during musicals. As long as you follow these simple rules, you shouldn’t have any problems enjoying the show!
