For example, if you want to do some planks, you might find it’s easier if you have a mat that you can place under your arms.  

However, in the absence of an official mat, you can also use a few towels or some t-shirts. The best part about using towels is that you probably already have a few that you can use, which means you don’t need to spend any money to begin exercising. 

In addition to planks, other exercises that you can do in your apartment that don’t require equipment or much space include squats, push-ups, lunches, or crunches. If you don’t feel that you’re up to performing some push-ups, you can find some excellent training videos on the internet that will take you from start to finish in learning how to do push-ups.
